About.

Brenna Feeney is a musician, writer, and poet from Washington state based in East Nashville. After nearly two decades studying opera under distinguished teachers from the Oberlin Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, and the Juilliard School, Brenna pivoted to performing and writing her own music after moving to Nashville in late 2016.

Written in a sensual, bluesy-pop style and driven by her distinctively smoky vocals, her songs are intellectual, atmospheric, and vivid. In Nashville, she has performed at such venues as the Basement and Found Object and was a first-place finalist in the 2019 Nashville Top Writers songwriting competition presented by AGD.

While an undergraduate at Whitman College, Brenna majored in politics and vocal performance and was both a Higley and Campbell Scholar— two distinctions awarded for academic achievement.

In Fall 2021, Brenna will begin studies for a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing (Fiction) at Columbia University in the City of New York.

An avid writer of both poetry and prose, Brenna was awarded an Art Wire writing fellowship with OZ Arts, a performing arts organization in Nashville, for the 2020-2021 season. Themes of perfectionism, body image, nature and memory weave throughout all her work. Her poem, "Daily Bread", will be published in the fifth issue of the biannual literary magazine, GRLSquash, in 2021. Brenna has lived in New York, Vienna, and Italy and is currently at work on her first novel. She plans to release an EP of original songs later this year.
